    As the Accounts Payable & Shareholder Relations Specialist at Lakeland Bank you will assist with administration of accounts payable which entails timely review, general ledger entry and payments of invoices. This role is also responsible for Shareholder relations tasks including preparing daily insurance claims, (and its related functions) responding to phone inquiries and preparing miscellaneous filings. We are seeking an applicant with a high degree of discretion and understands the importance and practices confidentiality.


    • Perform daily Accounts Payable duties to include gathering and matching source documents, ensuring proper approval and coding for entry to the general ledger.
    • Perform Shareholder relations duties as needed, to include responding to phone inquiries, preparing Form 3/4 filings, and maintaining insider shareholder records.
    • Maintain monthly prepaid expenses on Prologue.
    • Prepare daily insurance claims as needed.
    • Perform miscellaneous duties as needed to include tasks such as 945 filings, NJ sales tax filings, record retention and escheat.
    • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.



    • High School diploma.
    • Experience working in an office setting.
    • Advanced alphanumeric data entry skills.
    • Intermediate 10-key, Word, and Excel skills.
    • Basic knowledge of Accounting principles.
    • Proficiency with general ledgers.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate discretely and effectively across all levels of the organization, with shareholders and vendors.
    • Superior customer service skills employed with both internal and external customers.
    • Ability to make smart, rational decisions independent of others.
    • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
    • Willingness and ability to learn Bank computer systems relative to the function, to include Prologue.
    • Must be bondable.

    Preferred candidate will possess:

    • Associates Degree in accounting or finance
    • 2 years of experience in accounts payable.
    • Working knowledge of Prologue

    Employment Eligibility

    All Lakeland Bank employees must be bondable. FBI background checks are required to confirm eligibility for bonding.

    Note: A guilty plea or criminal conviction will not necessarily preclude employment at Lakeland Bank.

    Scheduled Hours

    38. 75 hours per week

    Don't Be Fooled

    The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
